God tells the people in Second Chronicles 7:14; “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This was written to a people long ago in a different culture than ours. However, our land is in need of healing and we need forgiveness. The question I ask myself and all who listen is: “Why don’t we pray more?” I propose three reasons in this lesson why we should pray: 1. We have needs. And if we feel we are doing alright, we know many who have needs who we should be praying for; 2. We are blessed. It is easy to forget God when we are blessed, but we must not forget God; 3. The great cloud of witnesses as seen in Hebrews 12. So many Godly men have gone before us and have proved that prayer is a vital part of life. Let us become a praying people; a people who seek God in our trouble, in our good times, without ceasing.
